Winner over test
A Cross Country Classic on the Pulse of Time
Clear air, real nature - free at last. Feeling the terrain, really pushing it or relaxing in a sporty way – the BULLS Copperhead is the perfect companion. Without frills and yet always at the latest technological en development standard, fans and press are impressed, every year yet again. The Cross Country all-rounder has bagged many test wins and in its price class of around 1,000 euros, it impresses with a maximum of performance and equipment.
No wonder then that the Copperheads belong to the most sought after Hardtails of the sector and are often sold out as soon as the seasons starts. Since 2007, the bestseller is being further refined every year and fitted with sensible innovations, so that the perennial is continuously significantly improved. However, the basic values of the success model are not touched: Perfect frame geometry, filigree processing quality and amenities that can't find their equal in this area, mark the unmistakable character of every individual Copperhead.
Perfectly attuned to sporty, ambitious riding, the Rock Shox Reba spring fork, XT components and the hydraulic Shimano disc brake in the Ice-Tech variant equip the classic with the necessary potential, even for the toughest tours through the wild. Since 2014, the Copperheads run on the enlarged 27.5 inch running wheels. Extra grip in bends, more speed and sovereignly negotiating roots and stones thanks to the flatter approach angle give the rider still more control and comfort, in conjunction with the snappy Schwalbe Rocket Ron tyres.
press-fit bearing is pressed into the bottom bracket shell and not screwed, as
would be usual. The resulting force-lock fastens the bearing in the housing.
The press-fit inner bearing increases stiffness of the crank/inner bearing
combination, increasing the bearing's service life at a lower weight.
Semi-integrated headsets with an inner diameter of 1 1/8 inch on top and 1.5 inch
at the bottom ensure best riding stability and excellent control head
stiffness. The stiffness of the fork profits from the more voluminous shaft,
and the forces are discharged into the frame better and with less strain on the
material through the higher-volume control tube.
frames require longer chainstays. The result is a much improved climbing
capacity, which is relevant in large frames. After all, the centre of gravity clearly
shifts backwards with a tall rider, specifically at inclinations. Taller riders
also need more space since they usually have longer feet, and for the longer
cranks to avoid touching the chainstays with their heels.
The travel of the fork is 100 mm.
Butted" means triply conified wall thickness areas with a flowing
transfer. The strength is sufficient at the centre of a tube and the tube walls
can be kept thinner there. For best force distribution in the tube "Triple
Butted" tubes are also applied with different wall thicknesses at the ends.
